WordPress Now Available at CERN: A Major Step Forward

CERN has officially adopted WordPress as its new web content management system, replacing Drupal after years of use. This significant shift marks a major improvement in usability, accessibility, and responsiveness across CERN’s web presence.

Developed in collaboration between the International Relations and IT departments, and guided by the Web Governance Board, WordPress is designed to empower site owners to focus on content creation rather than web development.

New Drupal sites can no longer be created. Existing Drupal sites using CERN’s standard setup will be automatically migrated to WordPress between summer 2025 and the end of the year. Custom sites will be handled individually.

CERN users can now create WordPress websites via the Web Services Portal.
